Highlight:
1.International Energy Agency (IEA) calls for annual additions of solar PV to reach 630 GW by 2030.And Japan will deploy 150GW of total PV installed capacity in 2030,This means that there will be at least 60GW of upside potential in the next 8 years.
2.Japan introduced auction system for awarding fixed tariff to large-scale solar PV projects. Projects selected through bidding competition receive 20-year long Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
3.All PV projects larger than 2 MW were subjected to the renewable capacity auctions until 3rd Auction around. From 4th Auction around, the project capacity threshold is reduced from 2 MW to 500kW.
In an effort to pave the way towards a more sustainable and green future, the Government of Malaysia announced a target for the country to increase renewable energy in its energy generation mix to twenty percent (20%) by the year 2025. In carrying out this agenda, one of the key renewable energy sources focused on by the Government is solar energy.
The Indonesian government is targeting additional electricity generation to reach 40,967 Mega Watt (MW) or 41 Giga Watt (GW) in the next ten years.
The target is stated in draft Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of the state electricity utility PT PLN of 2021-2030.
