The largest of the two solar plants, the photovoltaic installation located on the Alcampo de Aranda de Duero (Burgos), is made up of 647 photovoltaic panels, has a power of 356 kWp, will allow it to produce more than 470 MWh per year and will cover a third of the center's total consumption, its promoters assure. This green energy produced will have a significant impact on the reduction of CO2 emissions from said hypermarket, with 53 tCO2eq avoided annually, which represents the consumption of 135 homes or the carbon captured by 2,150 trees planted.
For its part, the Alcampo establishment in Teruel has deployed 447 solar modules on its roof capable of developing a power of 246 kWp, which at full capacity will offer more than 346 MWh per year, a third of the center's total consumption. With this project, the Alcampo hypermarket in Teruel will save the emission of 39 tCO2eq annually, the equivalent of the consumption of 100 homes or the emissions avoided by 1,580 trees.
Americo Ribeiro, general director of Alcampo: “producing photovoltaic energy in our centers is a fundamental lever of our decarbonization strategy. In order to achieve the objectives we have set, we are committed to high-impact projects in alliance with key actors such as Helexia. Only in this way will we be able to move firmly and quickly towards the 2043 horizon.”
