Ampt has concluded delivery to the largest solar plus storage project in Latin America. The 240 MW solar power plant is based in the Atacama Desert plateau in Chile.
The PV plus storage power plant is located in the center of Chile’s mining industry.
According to the company, its Ampt String Optimizers will link the PV system to 560 MWh of DC-coupled energy storage.
It has been informed that the region is suitable for efficiently producing solar energy as it gets abundant sun.
"The system will generate, store, and supply a renewable source of energy to support the copper mining operations of Sierra Gorda SCM," a report mentioned.
Furthermore, it has been informed that the project uses Ampt String Optimizers to connect the PV system to the energy storage system through a shared DC bus.
According to the authorities, there will be a supply of a clean, renewable source of energy to the copper mining operation.
