Bahrain's Ministry of Interior launches 15.5 MWac grid-connected solar power plant

The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs in Bahrain has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Build Own Operate and Maintain (BOOM) of a 15.5 MWac grid-tied solar PV power plant on building rooftops and as car park shades, along with EV charging stations.

The 20-year contract aims to boost renewable energy adoption and enhance sustainability in the country.

Bidders, including local and international companies, are invited to participate, with an emphasis on prior experience in successfully commissioning solar projects.

The ministry highlights the importance of achieving a fixed and stable price for sustainable energy over the contract period. The project aligns with Bahrain’s commitment to clean energy initiatives, contributing to global efforts in combating climate change.
