Envision's 4.5 MW wind turbine crashes in Vietnam





A wind turbine of Envision has been crashed down in Vietnam. It has been reported that the EN-171/4.5 type turbine was shattered during a storm.


Following the storm, the turbine went out of control and lost a blade. It was a 4.5MW Doubly-Fed model.


According to the locals, "Large, sharp pieces of fiberglass from the blade got scattered over the lake east of the turbine…those pieces were found up to as far as 40 meters from the base of the turbine".


They further shared that one of the heavy blades flew at least 40 meters away and crashed into the lake water with a huge sound.


A local eye-witness regarded the the bang of blade as 'a sonic boom or a car accident'.
