Italian independent power producer ERG SpA’s 149-MWp solar farm has reached the final commissioning stage in Spain.
The Garnacha solar farm is located in the Castile and Leon region of Spain.
According to the company, it has already completed the registration of Garnacha in Spain’s RAIPEE registry of electricity production facilities. The solar farm has already generated around 15 GWh, while its total generation output is estimated at some 280 GWh annually.
The company further informed that the solar plant consists of bifacial panels and solar trackers.
As per ERG officials, the company has inked a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA) in place for 70% of the solar farm’s output.
Alessandro Garrone, ERG's Executive Vice President stated, “Garnacha solar farm is the largest by capacity in ERG’s renewables portfolio, and Spain is a key market for the company's development.”
In Spain, ERG has achieved 266 MW of installed solar capacity so far.
“The company expects to grow significantly in the coming years, “mainly through the organic development of a solar pipeline exceeding 1 GW of new projects”, Garrone was further quoted.
