Ictio Solar is the name of the new solar park launched by Galp in the town of Albarreal de Tajo (Toledo) with a capacity of 50 megawatts (MW) and an estimated annual production capacity of 66,300 megawatt hours (MWh) thanks to its 114,184 photovoltaic modules spread over 90 hectares. The energy produced annually is enough to supply approximately 19,000 families and avoid the emission of 62,101 tons of CO2.
The new photovoltaic plant is a project that has allowed the creation of 250 direct and indirect jobs during the construction, operation and maintenance phases, according to the company itself. In turn, this new solar park allows Galp to reach 1.4 gigawatts (GW) of renewables in operation in Iberia, in addition to 215 MW of capacity corresponding to the plants currently under construction, most of which will come into operation in short term. Likewise, Galp will briefly begin the construction of an additional 1.3 MW in Spain.
