Grenergy has signed a long-term solar energy sales agreement (PPA) to supply Enel Generación Perú with green energy from the Matarani solar park, which is located in the Peruvian region of Arequipa and has a peak power of 97 megawatts (MW). ), as reported by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
Specifically, the agreement that Grenergy has closed with Enel contemplates the long-term sale of energy of approximately 182 gigawatts per hour (GWh) per year, and will last for 15 years, being activated in January 2025.
Matarani, which is the third largest renewable facility (solar and wind) in Peru, is already under construction and is expected to come into operation in 2024.
Grenergy has highlighted that it is estimated that the park will come into operation in mid-2024 and will generate 260 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy each year, enough to supply electricity to 62,109 homes, with a saving of 56,092 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
According to David Ruiz de Andrés, CEO of Grenergy, the company “continues to demonstrate the ability to close large agreements in all geographies”, giving it “sufficient financial strength” to continue promoting its growth plans.
