Matrix Renewables and Sabadell finance a 50 MW photovoltaic solar park in Seville with 47 million


Matrix Renewables and Banco Sabadell have closed a project financing of 47 million euros for the construction of a photovoltaic solar plant in the municipality of La Rinconada (Seville) that will have a capacity of 50 megawatts (MW). Approximately 250 full-time local jobs will be created during the construction phase of the project, providing a significant economic boost to the region. Construction began in May 2023 and the plant is expected to start operating in the first quarter of 2024. It is estimated that the plant will produce clean energy equivalent to supplying approximately 29,500 homes per year, avoiding the emission of more than 34,900 tons of CO2-eq per year.


For Nicolás Navas, CFO of Matrix Renewables, "this is another important step for Matrix Renewables in consolidating its strong portfolio of projects across Europe. We are very proud to add this project to the 1.4 billion euros we have financed since our creation in September 2020. We extend our gratitude to the Sabadell Corporate Banking team for their hard work and commitment to this project." For his part, Roger Font, Director of Project Finance Energy at Banco Sabadell, pointed out that "Matrix Renewables is a key partner for Banco Sabadell given its extensive experience in the sector and, as such, this operation is part of the strategy of bank to collaborate with specialized companies that can provide differential value to their customers.In addition, it allows the bank to advance in its objective of promoting the use of renewable energies through financing support, reinforcing Banco Sabadell's commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, and aligning with its objective of achieving a more efficient and responsible economy".
