Secursun to build first solar parks from 1.1GW pipeline in Germany

Secursun has kicked off the construction of the first solar parks in Germany. The German joint venture started construction from its portfolio of around 1100MW in the country.

According to the company, more than 50 utility solar parks will be completed between the end of 2023 and 2026. Some seven solar parks will begin construction this year itself.

It informed that all plants will be constructed by the project developer Securenergy Solutions and Sunotec. This firm is experienced in construction of solar parks.

Out of the solar plants which will start construction this year, the first are the plants in Utzedel and Brusow located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

As per the company, the average project size in the 1.1GW pipeline will be around 20MW. There will also be individual solar parks of up to 150MW.

“Since the launch of our joint venture last November, less than a year has passed. The fact that the planning went so quickly was only made possible by the close cooperation between Securenergy Solutions and Sunotec. Now work has started at several locations at the same time,” Holger Stabernack, CEO of Securenergy Solutions, was quoted in a statement.

To be noted, an overall capacity of 7.2GW of solar was built in Germany last year including both ground-mounted and roof tops.

Amid such, the company plans to contribute to the ambitious expansion targets in Germany with our more than 50 projects.
