Shell and EnBW are to participate in France’s AO6 floating offshore wind tender for two projects of 250MW off the Mediterranean coast.
The project, named Moulins du Leonis, will leverage Shell’s experience in the area with the Groix Belle Ile pilot project, as well as technological developments deployed in projects in the UK and Scotland, Shell tender director for France Cedric Marande said.
Shell-owned Eolfi and EnBW-owned Valeco, together with Banque des Territoires, previously pre-qualified for the AO5 South Brittany tender with their 250MW Moulins du Mervent project.
Applications for the pre-qualification phase for the Mediterranean tender closed on May 23, with results expected to be announced in the summer, Pauline Bertrand, offshore development manager at Valeco said.
This will be followed by a tender, with award of a winner expected around autumn next year. The companies expect to reach FID by 2027-2028, she said.
The AO6 Mediterranean tender envisages two projects, one located in the Occitanie region off the coast of Gruissan, the other near Port Saint Louis.
