Shell is all set to acquire four solar projects in the UK with a total capacity of 100MW.
The projects are being developed by Anesco in North Wales, Chester, South Northamptonshire and North Lincolnshire.
All the projects are in final stages of planning over the past 18 months.
According to the company, power generated from these projects will be supplied to UK customers.
Lukas Fleming, Head Onshore Power, Shell UK was quoted in a statement, “Shell is building a business that spans the generation, trading and supply of clean energy to homes and businesses here in the UK. Acquisition of these four solar energy projects from Anesco will mean we can help meet more of the growing demand for renewable power from our UK customers.”
This is not the first time that the duo agreed on a cooperation project. Earlier, they had successfully collaborated on a battery storage plant.
Besides, Anesco completed development of the third in a trio of solar farms for Shell in the Netherlands.
