Singapore Airshow 2022 powered by solar energy

The four-day Singapore Airshow 2022 kicked off on February 15 powered by solar energy.

To be noted, Singapore Airshow 2022 has adopted sustainability efforts by going largely paperless.

It has been informed that the international event is completely powered by solar energy. The power is generated from at least 15,000 panels installed on the roof of the Changi Exhibition Centre.

The event has hosted over 13,000 trade representatives and nearly 600 companies from more than 39 countries. It has been reported that the event represents over 70 percent of the top 20 global aerospace companies.

Vietnam, known for being the hub of solar energy, has also participated in the event.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, headed by Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan and Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung.

According to the organizer, the event is a platform for "strategic discussions and exchange of ideas, forging relationships and helping to accelerate the recovery of the aviation industry in Asia."
