Solek Group to develop, build and sell solar projects in Chile



Solek Group is all set to develop, build and sell solar projects in Chile to BlackRock's Global Renewable Power Fund III (GRP III).



For this, the company has already signed a framework agreement through its Chilean subsidiary Solek Latam.


According to the company, the latest agreement will enable Solek Group to develop up to 28 individual photovoltaic power plant projects. These projects will have a capacity of up to 200MW.


It has been reported that Aediles Capital will handle asset management for the BlackRock Global Renewable Power Fund III, while Solek will handle the operation and maintenance services for the projects.


Solek Group founder and chief executive Zdeněk Sobotka remarked, "BlackRock is a leading investor in renewable power globally, which means we are entering into a relationship with a stable and renowned partner who will create a long-term outlet for our services."


He further stated that this deal is an important strategic step towards establishing cooperation with leading infrastructure investors by not just targeting Chile but also other countries.



As per the company, "each project will be constructed and connected under Chile's PMGD/PMG programme, which is one of the pillars of the country's strategy to become carbon neutral by 2050," a report mentioned.

It has been informed that the solar power projects with a n installed capacity of 90.5MW are already in phase of construction.
