Statkraft signs a renewable PPA with Mondelez International for a period of 11 years

Statkraft and Mondelēz International, a food industry manufacturer, have signed a long-term renewable electricity supply agreement (PPA).

Statkraft will supply Mondelēz International with around 100 GWh annually, production equivalent to the average consumption of almost 30,000 Spanish homes. They will be supplied by one of the plants that Statkraft manages in its portfolio, which includes wind and solar capacity of 1.8 GW on the Iberian Peninsula. Specifically, in this case it is a solar installation located in Andalusia. The contract will have a duration of 11 years, starting on January 1, 2025.

Mondelēz International, producer of brands such as Oreo, belVita and LU cookies; Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka and Toblerone Chocolate is investing in renewable electricity sources across Europe, with the aim of meeting its long-term goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050. Thus, this PPA contributes to achieving that goal.

To reach this agreement, Mondelēz International has had the support of 3Degrees as a renewable energy advisor and facilitator.
