Statkraft to add 228 MW of solar at wind farms in Brazil

Norwegian state-owned energy company Statkraft AS has approved the construction of two large solar parks in Brazil. Named VSE Solar Hibrido and MdC Solar Hibrido, the parks will be connected to the 519-MW Santa Eugenia and 79.8-MW Morro do Cruzeiro wind power complexes. Construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2021, and the parks are due to be commissioned in 2025. The project has been approved by sector watchdog Aneel under their regulations for hybrid power plants. When complete, the solar parks will have a collective capacity of 228 MW.
