Nexwell Power, platform for the construction, financing and sale of photovoltaic plants of the Nexwell Group, celebrates the start of activity of the Hornachos photovoltaic plant in Badajoz. The asset is now operating once the construction and adaptation work is completed. The photovoltaic plant, which has a total of 24 megawatts (MW), is prepared to supply 51 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy per year. The production of this clean energy is equivalent to the annual consumption of 14,700 homes and will avoid the emission of more than 20,000 tons of CO2 per year. With this news, Nextell Power sees its commitment to Badajoz and Extremadura come true, where it will soon build three new solar plants in the towns of Badajoz and Mérida.
The company also maintains its commitment to the Extremadura region through the promotion of several social projects in the province of Badajoz articulated through the Nextell Power Social Fund, as reported in a statement. Its objective is to raise awareness about climate change, promote renewable energies and train the local population with professional training related to photovoltaic energy, promoting employability in the area. For this reason, Nexwell Power has recently donated a self-consumption solar plant to the Cáritas Training and Employment Center in the city of Badajoz with which the center will be able to reduce its electricity bill. Likewise, the company finances and teaches a photovoltaic training course dedicated to the assembly of modules and the maintenance of solar installations. This training will directly benefit 15 students from the same Employment Center, without previous experience or training, who will be able to choose to work in local companies in the sector.
