The collaboration between Solarnative and Meyer Burger leads to the introduction of balcony solar systems

German micro-inverter maker Solarnative GmbH on Tuesday announced a partnership with Swiss solar products manufacturer Meyer Burger Technology AG to introduce a "Made in Germany" balcony power plant to the market.

The companies will target the booming market for private photovoltaic (PV) installations with a system, where each module is controlled individually to maximise yield, rather than having several solar modules share a common inverter. In addition, the locally permissible feed-in power, which currently is 600 W in Germany, is not limited by the power value of the inverter, but is regulated by the balcony power plant’s control unit. Solarnative also said the partnership will be providing data security to its customers in the balcony power station segment, so far dominated by Chinese manufacturers.

“Our common goal is to offer consumers a first-class and sustainable solution for decentralised energy generation that meets the highest standards of quality, aesthetics and functionality,” remarked Solarnative chief executive Julian Mattheis.

The product will be available in Meyer Burger’s online store at the end of March.

Meyer Burger recently said it was halting production at its Freiberg site in Germany in preparation for closure.
