Tigo's new MLPE is designed to support commercial and industrial solar projects, as well as large-scale plants.
Tigo Energy has announced a new line of Module-Level Power Electronics (MLPE), the Tigo TS4-X series. The MLPE product line is designed to support newer high-power solar modules with capacities of up to 800Wp.
The device offers module-level power optimization, monitoring, and rapid shutdown. The new devices are compatible with a wide range of solar inverters from other manufacturers, according to Tigo.
Tigo combines its MLPE and solar optimization technology with cloud-based software features for energy monitoring and control. Tigo's MLPE products enhance module performance, enable real-time energy monitoring, and provide rapid shutdown as required by module-level code.
The three different product lines of TS40X include TS4-X-O with module-level optimization and advanced monitoring, TS4-X-S with advanced monitoring, and TS4-X-F with rapid shutdown.
All lines have a rated power of 25 A and a maximum input voltage of 80 V. Tigo claims that the new product line can be designed with selective deployment of optimizers in the array, allowing for a low levelized cost of electricity (LCOE).
The Tigo TS4-X MLPE devices are certified by IEC and UL for global acceptance and comply with NEC 2017 and 2020 690.12 Rapid Shutdown specifications when installed with the Tigo RSS transmitter and a UL PVRSS-certified inverter or an inverter with a Tigo-certified integrated transmitter.
Tigo stated that the rack-mounted MLPE can be installed in 10 seconds and connects through standard industry MC4 connectors and an IP68-rated box for durability.
The company also develops and manufactures products such as inverters and battery storage systems for the residential solar plus storage market.
