In a significant move towards advancing renewable energy initiatives in Africa, Toyota Tsusho Corporation has unveiled AEOLUS SAS, a joint venture formed in March 2024 in France. AEOLUS, jointly owned by Toyota Tsusho’s subsidiaries CFAO SAS and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, aims to spearhead renewable energy business across the African continent.
Toyota Tsusho is strategically focusing on accelerating its presence in “Renewable Energy and Energy Management” and “Africa” as part of its Growth Strategy. With a focus on infrastructure projects, including solar, wind, and geothermal power generation, Toyota Tsusho aims to expand renewable energy utilization in Africa.
CFAO brings extensive business experience, knowledge, and networks across Africa in mobility, healthcare, consumer, and infrastructure domains. Eurus Energy, the largest wind power producer in Japan, boasts expertise in renewable energy business across 15 countries and regions.
AEOLUS is established to consolidate and enhance the renewable energy business in Africa by integrating the expertise of CFAO and Eurus Energy, fostering flexibility and efficiency in project execution.
The joint venture will consolidate ongoing renewable energy projects in Africa, gradually taking over their operations. AEOLUS will engage in independent power producer (IPP) business, focusing on developing and expanding renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power tailored to each African country’s unique conditions.
