Turkish investors are set to build a solar power plant in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Members of the delegation led by Kemal Günay, CEO of Akgün Enerji, a company specializing in solar power plants, met with Head of Surkhandarya region Ulugbek Kasymov, and discussed the construction of a modern source of renewable electricity, UzA reports.


The meeting participants noted that friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye have been rapidly developing in recent years.


Turkish investors said they have promoted a project to build a 100 MW solar PV plant.

During the talks, the head of the region expressed his readiness to provide optimal conditions for the joint implementation of this project. The relevant organizations were instructed to improve technical and economic capabilities with the participation of both local and Turkish specialists.


Currently, construction and installation work is underway at a large solar power plant with a capacity of 457 MW in Sherabad district of the region.
