The transformation process of Thailand's electricity market from "fossil fuel dominated" to "diversified zero-carbon energy system" continues.
In 2011, the photovoltaic installed capacity was 79MW, and in 2015, the installed capacity was 1.42GW. In 2016, Thailand’s installed capacity grew the most, with an annual growth rate of 73%, reaching 2.466GW. In 2021, the newly installed capacity will be 800MW, and the cumulative installed capacity will reach 3.783GW.
According to Thailand's National Power Development Plan (PDP), Thailand's installed photovoltaic capacity is expected to reach 15.6GW by 2037.
