Background information:
The Netherlands government aims to make 70 per cent of its electricity renewable by 2030, mainly through expanding solar and wind power capacity as it seeks to cut its emissions. It currently stands as one of Europe's top six polluting countries. In the last five years, solar photovoltaic (PV) deployment has sped up thanks to lower costs and feed-in tariffs.
Solar power in the Netherlands has an installed capacity of around 19,143 megawatt (MW) of photovoltaics as of the end of 2022. Around 4,232 MW of new capacity was installed during 2022. The cumulative installed capacity is expected to reach 25GW by the end of 2023。
