Ampyr Solar inks deal with Multiplex for a solar project in Europe

Ampyr Solar Europe has entered into a partnership with Multiplex for a solar project in Europe.

The duo has signed a solar power purchase agreement (PPA) in Norfolk in the east of England, UK. The PPA is for the Northwold Solar PV Generating Station.

It has been informed that the solar plant will provide renewable energy to Multiplex's construction sites and offices across the country.

According to the companies, “Ampyr will build and operate the solar farm which is likely to produce more than 9000 megawatt hours of energy annually.”

Steve Mason, Chief Commercial Officer at Ampyr Solar Europe, was quoted in a statement, “Ampyr Solar Europe continues its journey towards becoming a leading European IPP with world-class assets in the UK, as well as in Germany and the Netherlands.”

He further stated that “the company is able to offer innovative PPA products, providing offtakers with the price and supply certainty they require to meet their sustainability goals,” a local report mentioned.

It has been reported that this agreement will allow Multiplex to procure renewable electricity from the Northwold, which will lead to more renewable energy production.

The project is likely to be fully operational by the end of 2024.
