Swedish renewables developer Arise AB on Wednesday announced a cooperation agreement between its Finnish subsidiary Pohjan Voima and Finnish forest company Finsilva, which is one of the biggest landowners in the country.
The parties have identified five new project areas, which have the potential for the development of some 500MW of wind and solar power projects. Arise said it will include the sites in its portfolio as early-stage projects.
“This partnership marks another milestone in our growth strategy, adding 500 MW of new greenfield early-stage projects to our portfolio, proving that we are on track to deliver on our 2025 portfolio targets,” commented Arise CEO Per-Erik Eriksson.
The agreement strengthens a collaboration between Pohjan Voima and Finsilva as three of Pohjan Voima's current wind farm projects are located on land partially owned by Finsilva. The partnership may also include battery storage.
