Developer Brockwell Storage and Solar has initiated a statutory consultation for a new solar-plus-storage project in England, targeting an impressive power generation capacity of 400 MW.
The East Park Energy project will be situated northwest of St Neots and will feature a solar farm equipped with various components, including ground-mounted panels, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and underground cable connections. This facility will be complemented by a 100-MW battery energy storage system (BESS).
Spanning approximately 769 hectares, the project will also include the construction of an on-site substation and an underground cable connection to the existing electricity transmission network through National Grid’s Eaton Socon substation. The consultation process is set to remain open until October 29, 2024.
Pending the approval of development consent orders (DCOs) by summer 2026, construction is anticipated to commence in 2027, with a timeline of 30 months for completion. Brockwell Solar and Storage is a division of Brockwell Energy, formed after acquiring RNA Energy in March 2024.
