Charoen Pokphand Indonesia implements solar power plant for sustainable power transition

PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPIN), a poultry industry leader, has initiated its transition to sustainable energy by installing a solar power plant (PLTS) in collaboration with solar energy developer SUN Energy.

“Through this long-term partnership with SUN Energy, we believe that installing PLTS can contribute to addressing the challenges of global climate change,” stated Aditya Taufiq Wibowo, General Manager of Production at Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, in Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Friday, March 15.

The PLTS was set up at one of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia’s Plants in Salatiga, Central Java, boasting a capacity of 1.5 MWp. It is estimated that the utilization of solar energy will generate 1,508,458 kWh of electricity annually, resulting in a reduction of 1,178 tons of carbon emissions and the equivalent of planting 17,676 trees.

Aditya emphasized that the initiative aligns with Charoen Pokphand’s sustainability goals, aiming to create a conducive environment for future generations. “We acknowledge the importance of sustainability and remain dedicated to integrating eco-friendly business approaches,” he emphasized.
