China installed a large 315 gigawatts (315,000 MW) of new solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity, shattering global records and cementing its position as the world's largest solar energy market. This unprecedented deployment increased China's cumulative installed solar capacity to over 1.2 terawatts (TW), which is equivalent to more than 1,200,000 MW of clean electricity generation installed across the country.
According to official figures, the country's 315 GW of solar PV additions in 2025 surpassed prior years, driving China's energy transition away from fossil fuels. Solar is now a key component of China's overall effort to increase non-fossil energy sources and reduce carbon emissions.
This record year was brought about by changing policy dynamics, such as the switch from traditional feed-in tariffs to market-oriented procedures, which at first led to a rush to finish projects early in the year. The total number of installations exceeded projections and demonstrated the tenacity of China's solar industry, even when later in 2025 there were slower months.
SolaX Power Network Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., a prominent Chinese manufacturer of solar inverters and storage technologies, is one of the most notable success stories in China's solar boom. The company, which was founded in 2012 by Chairman Li Xinfu, has played a significant role in providing innovative inverter systems and battery storage solutions for utility-scale and distributed solar projects.
Large solar parks and commercial installations all around China use SolaX Power's X1-IES and X3-IES series inverters, which the company increased production of in 2025. In a year of record solar capacity additions, these solutions were notably helpful in helping project developers incorporate energy storage more effectively and maximize energy collection.
Although China's solar journey reached a turning point in 2025, industry analysts warn that as policy incentives change and markets adapt to new pricing systems, installation pace may slow. However, the nation's solar capacity is still expanding more quickly than most projections had anticipated.
China's accomplishments in 2025 not only demonstrate the strength of consistent investment and industrial capacity, but they also point to a changing global energy landscape that is increasingly driven by massive networks of solar farms, bolstered by innovation and strategic industrial leadership.
