The Ministry of Energy, Trade, and Industry (YEEB) of Cyprus has announced a successful completion of the first phase of its “Photovoltaics for All” initiative. This program, part of the “Sponsorship Plan to Encourage the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Saving in Homes 2024-25,” has seen an impressive response from electricity consumers.
In July, the YEEB wrapped up the initial phase, which allocated a budget for 6,000 applications under Category A3. The Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Energy Saving (EXE) Fund has reviewed and responded to over 5,000 applications. Approximately 4,000 applicants have been pre-approved, granting them a 10-month period to secure offers from approved installers and begin the installation of photovoltaic systems in their homes.
The YEEB anticipates that the installation of these photovoltaic systems will substantially increase in the coming months, as the market adapts to the growing demand. This uptick is expected to reduce overall installation times, further supporting the program’s goals.
The Ministry also plans to announce the second phase of the “Photovoltaics for All” Category soon, aiming to continue the momentum and further encourage the adoption of renewable energy solutions across Cyprus.
