Deputy Prime Minister inaugurates Imerys Al Zayani's 4.7MW solar plant in Bahrain

Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa inaugurated a 4.7-megawatt solar power station operated by Imerys Al Zayani, celebrating the company’s 10th anniversary.


The facility, equipped with 8,600 photovoltaic solar panels, is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 5,000 tonnes annually, constituting 15% of the company’s emissions.


The Deputy Premier emphasized the private sector’s role in environmental security, aligning with Bahrain’s goals of reducing carbon emissions by 30% by 2035 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.


He commended the partnership between Al Zayani Investments and Imerys, highlighting the efforts to enhance Bahrain’s industrial sector sustainability and contribute to economic development.
