Eni Plenitude Inaugurates 50-MWp Solar Farm in Spain

Italian renewable power producer and retailer Eni Plenitude SpA on Tuesday inaugurated a 50-MWp solar farm in the region of Murcia, southeastern Spain.

The Cerrillares solar farm is located on a 95-hectare (234.8 acres) site in the municipality of Jumilla, Plenitude Espana said in a LinkedIn post.


Electricity generated by the new plant will be marketed directly to end customers, encompassing small and medium-sized enterprises and households, the company said.


The unveiling comes two weeks after Eni Plenitude launched construction of the 330-MWp Renopool solar farm in Spain, its largest-ever solar project in the world.


The company, which also sells gas to its customers in Spain, aims to provide 100% decarbonised energy to all customers by 2040.
