In some regions of Europe, government support programs play an important role in promoting the development of industrial and commercial storage. In 2015, many countries such as the Czech Republic, Greece, and Lithuania introduced industrial and commercial storage support policies, including interest-free loans, tax exemptions, and financial subsidies.
At present, most European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) mainly purchase electricity through retail electricity contracts, with fixed prices, and must bear a high energy price environment that is very similar to that of household users.
With the popularization of smart meters, the implementation of dynamic electricity prices in Europe will further increase the income of industrial and commercial storage. Industrial and commercial storage users can participate in peak and valley electricity price arbitrage through the electricity spot market to further improve the profit model of industrial and commercial storage and improve the IRR level.
