Everfuel A/S has announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) with a prominent industrial partner in Germany for the provision of up to 10,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, starting from 2028.
The undisclosed industrial partner’s initial demand is anticipated to align with the output of a 100 MW electrolyser, emphasizing Everfuel’s strategy of delivering scalable electrolyser modules tailored to meet demand. This move reflects the partner’s commitment to decarbonizing industrial processes and increasing its consumption of green hydrogen over time.
Jacob Krogsgaard, founder and CEO of Everfuel, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, noting its alignment with Everfuel’s strategy of delivering green hydrogen at scale to industrial customers. He commended the partner’s ambition in pioneering the hydrogen transition in Germany, emphasizing the mutual commitment to significant carbon emission reductions and long-term value creation.
The German partner acknowledges Denmark’s potential for green hydrogen export and recognizes Everfuel’s strategic position in establishing hydrogen production capacities in Denmark’s power zone DK1.
Everfuel may source the green hydrogen from project Sif or other future electrolyser projects under development. However, the final commercial agreement is contingent upon several factors, including the establishment of hydrogen pipeline infrastructure between Denmark and Germany to connect Everfuel’s production facility with the customer.
Jacob Krogsgaard reiterated Everfuel’s commitment to large-scale green hydrogen production and distribution, referencing the Danish government’s willingness to assume the majority of the investment risk for the Danish hydrogen backbone. Everfuel’s response to Energinet’s market exploration deadline for backbone capacity reservation demonstrates its dedication, with significant commitments from both Everfuel and the German industrial partner.
RFNBO hydrogen is deemed crucial for decarbonizing industry and transport sectors in Germany, aligning with the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) targets.
The agreement signifies a significant step towards realizing large-scale green hydrogen production and distribution, highlighting Everfuel’s commitment to advancing the hydrogen economy in collaboration with its partners.
