Geotrading AD, a member of the GEOTECHMIN GROUP, has recently completed the construction of a new photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) on the rooftop of the ProAuto Multifunctional Complex. This marks the company’s third solar park and the fourth PVPP within the GEOTECHMIN GROUP. The largest of these is situated at the Flotation Complex of Ellatzite-Med AD in the village of Mirkovo. This project is a key component of GEOTECHMIN GROUP's green investment initiatives and commitment to environmental stewardship.
The newly installed solar park boasts a capacity of 82.72 kWp, making it Geotrading’s largest PVPP to date. With the integration of this photovoltaic system, the ProAuto Multifunctional Complex, which already utilizes cutting-edge, eco-friendly, and energy-saving technologies, now sources nearly 50% of its energy from green technologies.
The environmental impact of this installation is significant, offsetting carbon emissions equivalent to those produced by consuming 13 tons of diesel fuel, driving a petrol car for 142,000 kilometers, powering seven homes for a year, or charging nearly 2.3 million mobile phones.
Geotrading's first two PVPPs were installed in 2021 on the rooftops of ProAuto Service Centres in Sofia’s Gorublyane Quarter and the town of Etropole. Collectively, the three photovoltaic power plants generate a total of 157 MWh of electricity.
This solar park is a further investment in the eco-friendly ProAuto Multifunctional Complex, which is certified under the British sustainable building standard BREEAM 2013 with a Very Good rating. The complex is designed to minimize water, electricity, and natural resource consumption, generate its own energy, and provide top-tier working and leisure environments that meet the highest health and environmental standards.
The project aligns with the growing trend of encouraging renewable energy installations in urban settings, optimizing space for clean energy production. In the first four months of this year alone, these installations have generated nearly 100,000 kWh of green energy.
The photovoltaic power plants within the GEOTECHMIN GROUP were built by Energeo EOOD. Thanks to its three solar parks, Geotrading AD now operates entirely on green energy.
