GlassPoint, a global leader in decarbonizing industrial process heat, has announced significant progress on its GlassPoint Ma'aden Technology Showcase (GMTS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA).
This initiative represents a key step toward constructing Ma'aden I, the world’s largest industrial solar thermal project. Valued at $1.5 billion, Ma'aden I will leverage advanced solar thermal technology combined with thermal storage to accelerate decarbonization across Ma'aden's aluminum supply chain.
To bring the GMTS to fruition and expand its solar thermal projects globally, GlassPoint has partnered with Cox as its technical and delivery partner. These collaborations highlight GlassPoint's commitment to advancing renewable energy technologies.
GlassPoint and MISA are set to establish a state-of-the-art solar manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia. This facility will not only support Ma'aden I and other regional solar initiatives but also position the Kingdom as a hub for exporting high-tech renewable energy components.
