Goldbeck Starts 51 MWp Solar Project at Eneco's Dutch Wind Farm

Germany’s Goldbeck Solar GmbH said on Tuesday that it has begun installing a 51-MWp ground-mounted solar farm within a wind farm in the Dutch municipality of Woensdrecht, southern Netherlands.

The solar developer and installer secured this assignment from Dutch utility Eneco. Eneco owns a five-turbine wind farm called Kabeljauwbeek in Woensdrecht, on the Dutch border with Belgium, and has contracted Goldbeck to install solar panels underneath.

For Eneco, the Kabeljauwbeek solar farm will be its largest such plant to date, the utility said separately.

Goldbeck Solar will assemble the facility using around 88,000 panels and a decentralised inverter system and take advantage of existing grid connections. The company expects to complete the project by the end of 2024.

Once in operation, the Kabeljauwbeek will produce around 44.5 GWh of electricity per year, or enough to power approximately 15,000 households.

Goldbeck Solar has built over 40 solar farms in the Netherlands, according to Thorsten Lerch, who heads the company's Profit Center Netherlands. Kabeljauwbeek is its sixth solar project with Eneco.
