GoodWe Releases Solar Inverter Tailored for C&I Projects

GoodWe, a global leader in solar inverters, has unveiled its latest innovation, the LVSMT-US inverter, designed specifically for small commercial and industrial (C&I) photovoltaic projects. This new inverter line is engineered to offer versatile voltage and capacity options, with models available in 22/28kW at 208V, 23/30kW at 220V, and 25/32kW at 240V.

Michael Mendik, GoodWe’s Country Manager for the U.S. and Canada, highlighted the groundbreaking flexibility of the LVSMT-US, stating, “The sheer convenience of this inverter’s voltage and capacity flexibility is truly groundbreaking.”

Building on the technology from GoodWe's successful SMT-US series for medium and large C&I installations, the LVSMT-US introduces several enhanced features, including a peak efficiency of 97.5%, a wide operating voltage range from 180V to 950V, and a 180% DC oversizing capability. The inverter is equipped with four maximum power point trackers (MPPT) and an intelligent shadow scanning function to optimize performance even in shaded conditions.

Notable safety features include a fast-shutdown transmitter that complies with safety regulations without needing additional module-level hardware, as well as Type II surge protection on both the DC and AC sides. The LVSMT-US also features built-in arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) and a NEMA Type 4X rating, ensuring robust performance in various environmental conditions.

“Following the success of our SMT-US series for medium and large scale C&I installations, we are introducing its advanced string inverter technology to the small C&I market,” Mendik added. “From garages and schools to healthcare facilities and retail establishments, this value-added string inverter eliminates the need for costly module-level power electronics (MLPEs), while providing all the benefits to improve energy and financial performance over the life of the system.”

GoodWe’s commercial and industrial product range also includes smart meters and monitoring loggers. The company, headquartered in China and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, has nearly 5,000 employees and had installed over 71 gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity in more than 100 countries by the end of 2023.
