India and Japan have strengthened their collaboration in the energy sector, focusing on energy security, clean energy transition, and climate action.
According to India’s Ministry of Power, the two nations recently held discussions under the Japan-India Clean Energy Partnership. This partnership is supported by institutional mechanisms, including the India-Japan Energy Dialogue and sector-specific Joint Working Groups (JWGs).
During the talks, both sides reiterated their commitment to ensuring energy security and promoting inclusive growth. They acknowledged progress in areas such as energy efficiency, clean hydrogen, ammonia, and renewable energy, and agreed to broaden cooperation in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), green chemicals, biofuels, and other advanced technologies.
Officials highlighted that the India-Japan partnership will continue to play a key role in building secure, resilient, and sustainable energy systems across the Indo-Pacific region.
