Innova is thrilled to announce a 15-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between Anglian Water and ISG Renewables, a joint venture between Innova and Schroders Greencoat, for the 27.8MW Elms Farm solar project.
This agreement will provide Anglian Water with traceable renewable energy, supporting their goal to source up to half of their power from renewable sources and achieve Net Zero Carbon status by 2030. EDF will supply power balancing and shaping services, ensuring a reliable source of renewable energy through Anglian Water's licensed supplier, SSE.
Currently under construction, the Elms Farm project is expected to energize later this year, generating around 29,000 MWh of power annually for Anglian Water throughout the 15-year term of the PPA. The PPA was vital for reaching financial close and enabling the project's construction.
Andy Peyman, Head of Energy Sales at Innova, expressed his excitement about partnering with Anglian Water on this agreement, particularly during these challenging energy market conditions. He highlighted the importance of the PPA for the project's progress and thanked Anglian Water and EDF for their collaboration.
David Riley, Head of Carbon Neutrality at Anglian Water, emphasized the company's commitment to carbon neutrality, benefiting both customers and the environment. He noted that the combined efforts of Innova, EDF, SSE, and Anglian Water were crucial in bringing this innovative renewable energy project to fruition.
Tom Abbott, Director of PPA at EDF, shared his enthusiasm for supporting the development of new renewable energy sites through agreements like this, which play a critical role in helping the UK achieve its net-zero targets.
