LS Cable & System has been named the preferred supplier of subsea cables for the 1 GW Haesong offshore wind farm, a major renewable energy development in South Korea.
Its affiliate, LS Marine Solution, has also been named the preferred contractor for offshore cable installation, allowing the group to offer a fully integrated package—from design and manufacturing to deployment.
“This project will leverage the strong synergy between LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution,” said Seungki Park, Head of Domestic Energy Sales at LS Cable & System. “We are proud to contribute to advancing Korea’s renewable energy sector.”
The Haesong Offshore Wind Project is being developed by Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) on behalf of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). Located off the west coast of Shinan, Jeollanam-do, the wind farm consists of two phases—Haesong 1 and Haesong 3, each with 504 MW of capacity.
CIP also holds a portfolio of other offshore wind projects in South Korea, including the 96 MW Jeonnam 1 offshore wind project, which recently entered commercial operation and is jointly owned with SK Innovation E&S.
