Mubadala invests in Skyborn Renewables with over offshore wind 7GW capacity



As part of a Global Infrastructure Partners-led consortium, Mubadala has invested in Skyborn Renewables with over 7GW capacity.

Mubadala is Abu-Dhabi-based fund, while Skyborn Renewables has been relaunched.

It has been reported that the Global Infrastructure Partners concluded the 100% acquisition of WPD Offshore and relaunched it.

According to the company, Skyborn Renewables has now an offshore wind portfolio with a capacity of more than 7GW. Out of this, there are five operating projects, while others are under construction. These projects are based in Germany, France and Taiwan.

As per Mubadala, Skyborn is the world's largest private offshore wind developer. The company has a capacity of 30GW diversified offshore wind projects.

The pipeline of projects is currently in various stages of development.

Besides, Mubadala has also invested in GIP’s 1.6GW project in NY Bight Project Bluepoint Wind. It includes the acquisition of a 50% share stake.
