Renewables developer Naturgy has secured a deal for solar projects in Spain for 2024.

The company has placed an order with photovoltaic module producer LONGi for a total output volume of 574MW.

As per the agreement, LONGi will supply over one million modules from its Hi-MO 5 series. Naturgy will install these modules in different projects across the country.

The solar projects are located in the regions of Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Andalusia.

Jorge Barredo, Managing Director of Renewables, New Business and Innovation at Naturgy, was quoted in a statement, “The scale of this new agreement with LONGi reflects Naturgy’s ambition for renewables in Spain this year.”

He further said, “LONGi’s solar technology also offers us an exceptionally efficient and durable performance. This is a key factor in building out Spanish photovoltaics and competing with traditional power sources.”

As per LONGi, the bifacial modules feature a 21.3% efficiency rate and gallium-doped technology, which is suitable for high heat and solar irradiance of Spain. All five projects are likely to receive module shipments this year.
