Nordic Solar A/S has started construction on a 53-MWp solar park in Central Spain near Segovia. The park is expected to be connected to the grid in the third quarter of 2024 and is estimated to generate enough power to supply 28,000 European households per year. The project is being developed in partnership with the local company Elecnor SA and Nordic Solar’s third quarter results showed that the company has 390 MWp of operational solar capacity across Europe.
“We are delighted to be starting the construction of our new solar park in Spain in close collaboration with our skilled local development partner, Elecnor. We have a strong focus on the execution of our development projects, which truly create value and contribute to the transition to renewable energy once the solar park is complete and society starts benefitting from the power generated by solar energy. When connected to the electricity grid next year and contributing to the production of our operational portfolio, our new solar park will help fulfill our ambitious goal for 2024,” says Nikolaj Holtet Hoff, CEO of Nordic Solar.
