Irish renewables developer and asset manager NTR Plc on Monday announced the start of commercial operations for 268.5 MW of wind and solar assets across eight sites in five European countries.
The eight projects, located in Ireland, UK, France, Spain and Finland, can provide over 108,000 homes with clean power, the company estimates, increasing the number of homes powered by its portfolio by 20%.
The assets are part of two funds -- NTR Renewable Energy Income Fund II and L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund.
The former includes the 21.6-MW Murley wind farm in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, which has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Almac Group; the 58.8-MWp Ockendon solar project built atop a sealed landfill site in Essex, UK; and Gorey and Macallian solar farms located in Ireland’s sunny Southeast, Wexford with a combined capacity of 22.1 MWp and a PPA with AIB Group.
The second fund includes the 86.8-MW Pajuperankangas wind farm in the municipality of Haapajarvi in Finland’s Northern Ostrobothnia province and the 13.4-MW Cruscades and Canet wind project near Narbonne, France. It further includes the 45.72-MWp Colomera and Pinos solar farm in the valley of Granada, Spain, which will provide 75% of its generation to food packaging company Huhtamaki, and the 20.07-MWp Poblete solar farm in Castile-La Mancha, Spain, which has a PPA for 70% of its generation with electric services company Holaluz.
