Singapore-based renewable energy producer Peak Energy has partnered with INUPS to roll out 30 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems across South Korea, supporting the platform's ambition to exceed its 200-MW target.
Under the agreement, Peak Energy and INUPS will jointly develop rooftop solar projects linked to the utility grid, with the electricity generated being sold to major corporations. Over the past few years, Peak Energy has successfully completed more than 400 projects in 13 Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.
As part of this collaboration, Peak Energy will oversee project development and construction up to the commercial operation date (COD) and manage power offtake agreements. Meanwhile, INUPS will be responsible for operating and maintaining the systems.
Kim Hyung-jun, Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of INUPS, who led this partnership agreement, said, “INUPS’ key executives and employees are experts with extensive experience in domestic and international renewable energy business development and investment over the past ten years. Based on this partnership agreement, we will quickly lead the domestic rooftop solar market in the future.”
Gavin Adda, CEO of Peak Energy, said, “Peak Energy is committed to Korea; we currently own and operate one of the largest projects in the country. Peak and its partners are committed to helping the South Korean government achieve its goals and helping Korean and international corporations in Korea achieve their sustainability targets. We are keen to help by bringing global best practices.“
