PetroEnergy Resources Corporation (PERC) is set to launch at least three new solar projects across the Philippines by 2025, adding over 87 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy to the Luzon and Visayas grids once operational.
The company’s subsidiary, Dagohoy Green Energy Corporation, is progressing on the 27-MW Dagohoy solar power project in Bohol. Supported by a PHP 834 million loan from Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), the Dagohoy project will start testing and commissioning next month, with commercial operations expected to begin in January 2025.
Aside from the Dagohoy project, PERC has recently acquired two more solar developments: the 19.6-MW San Jose solar project in Nueva Ecija and the 41-MW Limbauan solar project in Isabela. The Department of Energy (DOE) has approved the transfer of the service contract for the San Jose project to San Jose Green Energy Corporation (SJGEC), allowing construction to proceed. Testing and commissioning of this project are planned to start by the end of September, with commercial operations anticipated in the first quarter of 2025.
For the Limbauan project, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has authorized the system impact study, which is expected to start in September 2024. Site clearing for the 41-MW project is expected to be completed by year-end, with energization projected for October 2024.
PERC has also announced additional upcoming projects, including a 25-MW solar facility in Bugallon, Pangasinan, and three offshore wind projects located in northern Luzon, northern Mindanao, and Panay.
