PPC Renewables to build a solar power plant of 550MW

PPC Renewables has invited bids to build a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 550MW.

This is regarded as the largest photovoltaic facility in Greece. It will also be one of the largest facilities in Europe. The project is in Ptolemaida.

Till date, Hellenic Petroleum’s facility is the country’s largest photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 240MW.

PPC Renewables is the wholly owned subsidiary of Greece’s Public Power Company.

According to the company, this project is valued at €216million. The project is likely to be competed by 2024.

According to PPC renewables, the bid submission deadline is end of September. The contractors are required to produce a study, build, install and commission the plant, while also supplying equipment – except the solar panels,” a report mentioned.

The company will sell electricity through power purchase agreements.

PPC Renewables plans to expand its green energy portfolio across Europe. Its parent company PPC Power Corp is seeking to acquire projects in the Balkan region.
