The San Jorge Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant, developed by Prosolia Energy in Sant Jordi, Castellón, is now ready for commissioning. This plant has received Commissioning Approval for pre-operational operating tests (APESp) from Red Eléctrica de España. With an investment of 13.5 million euros and a peak power of 23 MW, this project marks the path of Prosolia's long-term strategy in Europe.
For its construction, 42,600 solar panels have been installed and, once it is at full capacity, it will be able to supply about 38,000 MWh per year, equivalent to the consumption of 8,500 families. In addition, this park will save the emission into the atmosphere of 10,000 tons of CO2 per year, which is equivalent to planting 500,000 trees. In this way, Prosolia Energy continues with its objective of contributing to energy decarbonization, betting on renewable sources.
This plant is one more step in Prosolia Energy's strategy to consolidate itself as an IPP (Independent Power Producer) in Europe. The company, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has an active presence in four countries, Spain, Portugal, France and Italy. It closed 2022 with a robust turnover of €75MM, and expects to conclude 2023 with strong growth, especially in the line of energy sales business.
Furthermore, by the end of this year, the company plans to manage 160 MW in operation, with expansion plans to reach 300 MW in 2024.
