Qualitas Energy has closed one of the biggest renewable energy funds in Europe. This is also regarded as the biggest private markets fund in Spain.
According to Qualitas Energy, it’s flagship Q-Energy Fund V, had an initial target size of €1.6bn, however, it was oversubscribed at close to €2.4bn, local report mentioned.
It has been informed that commitments to the fund span over 800 investors globally.
The company shared that the energy fund is focused on renewable energy assets in both operation and under development. In addition, it includes infrastructure projects enabling the energy transition in Europe.
The firm expects to expand its portfolio to over 6GW of capacity within the next few years in Germany.
It has already acquired a run-of-the river hydro plant and a solar PV portfolio in Chile.
Iñigo Olaguibel, Founding Partner & CEO of Qualitas Energy, was quoted in a statement, “We take great pride in successfully concluding one of the largest investment funds focused solely on renewable assets in Europe, and the largest ever private capital funds in Spain’s history.”
Furthermore, the company aims to boost the transition towards sustainable energy solutions.
