R.Power Commissions 4.8-MWp Solar Park in Portugal

Polish company R.Power Renewables said today it has commissioned a 4.8-MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Portugal, its second in the Iberian country.

Located on a 9-hectare (22.2 acres) site in Serta City, Castelo Branco district, the solar park consists of more than 8,600 bifacial PV modules.

R.Power estimates the new renewable power facility to be capable of generating 8.4 GWh per year, enough to meet the demand of almost 3,300 households. The output of the PV plant will be sold under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with an unnamed offtaker.

Polish firm Nomad Electric built the plant, while Nomad Electric Services is responsible for its operation and maintenance.

R.Power commissioned its first solar park in Portugal in May of this year. The company now has 13.2 MWp in the country and plans to put into operation six more projects to bring its domestic power capacity to 70 MWp.
